Observing these trend-setting events, it's clear that while new players continue to emerge, the intelligent warehousing and flexible logistics industry has begun to take shape. The top four companies—Haibao Robotics, GEEK+, Hikvision, and Standard Robots—are leading the charge with innovative products and strong core technologies. These firms are well-positioned to make significant breakthroughs in the near future.
Among the top national robot companies, Haibao gained fame during the Shanghai World Expo. Its Zeng Cheng intelligent cruise robot was even included in the National 863 Program. At CeMAT, Haibao launched its first domestic mobile robot platform, GRACE, offering users the ability to quickly develop various intelligent robotic solutions. This move reflects not only their technical strength but also their efforts to build a closed ecosystem with customers and partners.
GEEK+ has been making waves in the capital market, achieving three funding rounds in just two years. Its applications now span e-commerce, medical, and retail warehouses. The fifth-generation GEEK+ robot, unveiled after its debut at CeMAT, upgraded from QR code navigation to more advanced visual SLAM technology, clearly aiming to challenge industry giants like Amazon.
Hikvision, a listed company, holds a significant share in the storage robot market. Recently, it has introduced SLAM navigation unmanned forklifts, composite robots, and DWS systems. Notably, its DWS system integrates self-developed smart code reading cameras, laser stereo cameras, and dynamic weighing modules, enabling real-time data collection and processing. From product development to full system integration, Hikvision continues to demonstrate its robust capabilities.
Standard Robots, though younger than some of its competitors, made a strong impression at the Industry Fair. Their lineup includes the backpack-type Oasis robot and the forklift robot, both capable of performing industrial tasks without requiring any site modifications. Additionally, the Massif power inspection robot excels in complex environments, using video, image, micro-meteorology, and sound to collect comprehensive data. With independent R&D in SLAM, beacon positioning, and motion control, the company has earned praise for its flexible manufacturing and site inspection solutions.
According to TracTica, global shipments of warehouse and logistics robots are expected to grow from 40,000 units in 2016 to 620,000 by 2021. Market revenue is projected to rise from $1.9 billion to $22.4 billion, representing a tenfold increase. This growth highlights the immense potential for companies that master core robotic technologies.
However, despite the opportunities, domestic giants face challenges from foreign competitors. To stay ahead, they must continue improving product stability and reliability while maintaining a deep understanding of customer needs across different industries.
