According to Gartner's latest data, global production of professional drones is expected to reach 3 million in 2017, representing a 39% increase from 2016. Market revenue is projected to grow by 34% year-over-year, surpassing $6 billion. Meanwhile, the toy drone market continues to see rising shipments, reaching up to 50 million units annually. Research from the Chinese business sector suggests that by 2025, the scale of consumer-grade and toy-grade drones targeting the aerial photography and entertainment sectors could reach approximately 50 billion yuan. As this massive drone market expands, meeting high-quality, cost-effective demands while reflecting product competitiveness and differentiation becomes crucial. Standard features like barometers, once common in professional drones, are now disappearing at the toy level, moving toward integration with human-machine interfaces. According to InvenSense's frontline engineers, "Due to the increasing focus on height and climb capabilities, the air pressure sensor has become a key differentiator for drones."
Focusing on differentiation and professional development, the barometer has become a standard feature for drones. In drone applications, the air pressure sensor primarily detects changes in air pressure and maintains a fixed altitude. This involves two main functions: first, hovering, where the drone remains at a predetermined height; second, achieving precise takeoff and landing controls, preventing excessive speed. Unlike traditional resistive barometers, InvenSense’s capacitive-based air pressure sensors offer advantages such as low power consumption, low noise levels, excellent temperature stability, and high-precision technology. Last year, InvenSense launched the world's first 7-axis barometer, the ICM-20789, followed by the release of the pressure sensor series ICP-10100 and ICP-10110 earlier this year.
The InvenSense 7-axis barometer ICM-20789 is essentially a "two-in-one" integrated solution that adds capacitive-based technology to its leading 6-axis (3-axis accelerometer + 3-axis gyroscope) MEMS motion sensor. It features an air pressure sensor with top-tier performance and excellent temperature stability. Compared to discrete IMUs and single-axis barometers, the ICM-20789's 7-axis integration not only saves board space but also reduces costs, offering customers a straightforward upgrade path.
According to InvenSense engineers, "Given the professional requirements for height and climb, the barometer has become a standard feature for drones. With the widespread adoption and positive feedback for InvenSense’s IMU on drones, based on our deep understanding of customer needs, we believe that the high-performance seven-axis sensor ICM-20789 will provide customers with consistent quality products and satisfactory service."
Addressing various market demands, InvenSense also introduced the ICP-10100 (2x2x0.72mm 10L LGA), excelling in power consumption and noise performance. Its innovative "three small holes" (0.025mm) packaging design, unlike the single large-hole designs of others, offers better waterproofing and minimizes interference from light, wind, dust, and other environmental factors. The waterproof rating of ICP-10100 reaches IPx8, standing up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. Additionally, the ICP-10100, similar to the ICM-20789, achieves low noise levels with a root mean square of only 0.8 Pa in low-noise mode (5.2 μA current) and 3.2 Pa in low-power mode (1.3 μA current). Its performance metrics are nearly 45% better than comparable products on the market. InvenSense also released the ICP-10110 in various sizes (2x2.5x0.92mm 8L LGA).
Looking toward broader applications, barometers are becoming a new selling point for wearable device differentiation. InvenSense’s low-power, low-noise pressure sensors are ideal for multi-domain applications including wearables, smartphones, and more. Performance requirements vary across markets; for instance, the drone market prioritizes low noise, while wearable IoT applications emphasize low power consumption. Both InvenSense air pressure sensors effectively meet these diverse customer demands. Moreover, based on ICM-20789, InvenSense provides attitude detection algorithms for the wearable market, supporting hardware and software packages for altitude and attitude measurements.
"In some high-end markets, such as professional outdoor sports wearables, barometers are being added to achieve accurate altitude measurements, highlighting differentiation and professionalism in market positioning," InvenSense engineers noted. Despite the current sluggish growth in the wearable market, differentiation and professionalism remain key. InvenSense’s 7-axis air pressure sensor ICM-20789 and single-axis air pressure sensor ICP-10100 will quickly introduce new selling points to wearable devices.

Industrial Power Supplies
Industrial power supplies are power products specially designed and produced for a certain industrial production industry. For industrial power supplies, absolute balance of electronics characteristics is not the main focus. Different industrial applications focus on different specific electronics index, some focus on the stability of the power supply output voltage or current, but the ripple is not the key judging criteria; some industrial applications have customized requirements for power supplies, such as adding time control, adding pulse functions, adding multiple outputs, etc. At the same time, it is necessary to consider the cost requirements of large-scale purchases of industrial applications, so for industrial power supplies, Application adaptability, Long-term operating Reliability and Reasonable cost control are the main points of attention for industrial power supplies.

Our industrial power supply mainly involves three industries:
1. Capacitor testing industry: The main products are capacitor leakage current ripple test power supplies used for capacitor life and quality testing. It is an industrial power supply product mainly adopted by capacitor manufacturers` for products quality control or capacitor use manufacturers` for sourcing capacitor inspections with current endurance life test, according to the variety of output voltage and frequency required for different capacitance tests, the DC output voltage of this power supply is up to 3000V, the AC voltage output is up to 400V, the AC current is up to 400A, and the output frequency can be 50Hz-100KHz according to customer requirements.
2. Capacitor aging industry: The main products are our first-generation high-power DC power supply products, based on the development of IGBT-based hard-switching technology, with high output accuracy, low ripple, high efficiency, fast response speed and good cost advantages, the power supplies are featured with constant voltage, constant current working mode automatic switching function, overvoltage protection circuit, overheat protection circuit, short circuit protection function. For the convenience of industry users, this power supply can also add customized functions, such as: automatic shutdown for load discharge function, overvoltage, overcurrent protection value preset and view function and pulse aging function, etc., to adapt to the use of sophisticated capacitors of capacitor manufacturers.
3. Surface treatment industry: The DC rectifier based on the high frequency switching technology of IGBT switching devices is a product developed by our company for industrial applications such as electroplating, electrolysis, water treatment, and hard oxidation. There is no mandatory requirement for output ripple in this industry application. So, this industrial power products do not put too much LC circuit processing to the input and output ends. It has high requirements for output current stability and long-term operation capability, mostly low-voltage and high-current output, up to 2000KW, with ultra-high DC output of 50000A.
To overcomes the harsh application environment and long-term operating conditions. The industrial power supplies basically adopt water cooling, and the internal components of the power supplies are treated with three preventions, which can realize the effective heat dissipation and effective protection of internal devices of the power supply.
The above-mentioned industrial power products can accept customized production requirements without minimum order quantity restrictions.
