According to recent reports from Digitimes, Visionox has successfully completed the construction of its sixth-generation AMOLED production facility in Hebei Province. The company is now gearing up to commence operations and install the necessary production equipment early next year, specifically in early 2018. This marks a significant milestone for Visionox as it continues to expand its presence in the cutting-edge display technology sector.
Attached is an image showcasing the progress made so far at this state-of-the-art manufacturing site (see below). The sixth-generation plant is designed to boast a monthly substrate capacity of 30,000 units, primarily focusing on the production of flexible AMOLED displays. Full-scale production is anticipated to kick off in mid-2018. With an estimated investment of around $4.5 billion, this project underscores Visionox's commitment to advancing OLED technology and meeting growing global demand for high-quality display solutions.
Interestingly, Visionox started mass-producing AMOLED panels back in June 2015 using its fifth-generation AMOLED line located in Kunshan. Over the years, they've been actively involved in creating glass-based OLEDs tailored for smartphones and wearable devices, offering both passive matrix OLED (PMOLED) and active matrix OLED (AMOLED) products.
This new venture not only highlights Visionox’s technological prowess but also reflects their strategic approach towards securing a stronger foothold within the competitive OLED market landscape. As we move forward into 2018, it will be intriguing to see how these developments shape future innovations across various industries relying heavily on advanced display technologies.
