In industrial production, parameters like temperature, pressure, flow, level, and speed continuously change. PLCs use A/D and D/A conversion modules along with control algorithms to process analog signals and perform closed-loop control. PID control is commonly used in these systems. This type of control is widely applied in metallurgy and chemical industries, and at Yuncheng Power Plant, it is mainly used in central air conditioning and heating systems.

3. Motion Control

PLCs are also used for controlling circular or linear motion. Special motion control modules, such as single-axis or multi-axis position controllers that drive stepper or servo motors, are typically employed. These are widely used in machines, machine tools, robots, and elevators.

4. Data Processing

PLCs support mathematical operations, data transfer, conversion, sorting, and lookup. They can collect, analyze, and process data efficiently, making them ideal for complex data management tasks in industrial environments.

5. Communication and Networking

PLC communication includes both inter-PLC communication and communication between PLCs and other intelligent devices. With the advancement of factory automation networks, modern PLCs come equipped with communication interfaces, making integration and data exchange more convenient than ever before.
