Reading books are not allowed to play mobile phones. This smart table lamp supervises you.

New Zealand designer Avid Kadam hopes to focus on the real world as you sit at your desk. To this end, he designed a unique table lamp - Tranquilo. This light can only be turned on when you turn off your smartphone.

Tranquilo is different from ordinary desk lamps. The designer equipped the lamp with a detachable, color-switchable led bulb and a base that comes with two Near Field Communication (NFC) support and wireless charging. The user only needs to turn the smartphone off and then put it on, and then turn on the desk lamp and wirelessly charge it. Tranquilo will also switch your phone to the Do Not Disturb mode, allowing you to concentrate on the "under the light world."

This is an inspiring design. Today, when people can't do without mobile phones, many people don't have a mobile phone and they don't have a sense of security. They are often distracted by various voices when they sit at a desk. How to put down the mobile phone and focus on the real world in the 21st century of "Time Online"? Maybe we are in need of a Tranquilo.

Although the current lamp is only a conceptual design, the current technology cannot meet the practical details. Near-field communication technology can't switch the smart phone to the do not disturb mode. The wireless charging technology has not yet been popularized, and the standard is not uniform. Only a small number of mobile phones have the standard wireless charging function. However, the wireless charging desk lamp was introduced by IKEA earlier.

As a new design idea, Tranquilo conveys the hope of balancing smart devices and life, giving yourself and other people more "non-intelligent" space. Today, mobile phones are not leaving, many people are tired of sitting opposite friends can not chat, have been staring at the phone. Therefore, the forced shutdown mode of this desk lamp may allow you to get focused time.
