OLED TV will be equipped with 3D function next year

According to South Korea's "Asian Economy" report, it is reported that next year's OLED (organic light-emitting diode) television, which will be on shelves, will carry all 3D functions.

According to market research agency Displayresearch 27th, this year in the global OLED TV market, if the 300 sales standards to count, all are LG Electronics 15 inch 2D TV. After the Sony 11-inch product launched at the end of 2007 was sold out at the end of 2009, the LG products officially launched last year also stopped selling in the first half of this year, and OLED TVs on the market were also swept away from the second half of this year. All OLED TVs that will be fully launched from next year will be equipped with 3D capabilities.

It is expected that the OLED TV market will grow rapidly from next year, increasing to 50,000 units by 2012 and reaching 2.8 million units by 2015, ie, the average annual growth rate will reach 283% from 2012 to 2015.

The region with the highest average annual growth rate is Asia-Pacific except China and Japan, with an average annual growth rate of 485 percent. The average annual growth rate in North America is the lowest, only 235%.

OLED TVs have the largest demand in the European market. It is expected that the European market will occupy 44% of the world market next year, followed by North America (32%) and China (10%).

The proportion of products in Europe and North America is decreasing year by year. Conversely, the proportion of products in the Asia-Pacific region will start to rise in 2013, and it will force China in 2015, followed by Europe and North America into the top three.

With respect to the size of TV screens, it is expected that the proportion of large-sized TVs with a width of 40 inches and 50 inches or more will continue to increase next year. In particular, 55-inch products will occupy absolute advantages, among which the share of 40-inch and 46-inch TVs will increase slightly.

It is reported that Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics will launch a 55-inch OLED TV at the International Consumer Electronics Show "2012 CES" to be held in Las Vegas next month.

Displayresearch also pointed out that OLED TVs will further crowd out CRT TVs in 2015, but its share in the overall TV market is only 1%. The share of LCD TVs will reach 96% in 2015.
