Don't give up, because there's always a chance to fix it. A few days ago, I posted about a Sharp LCD-46GX50A TV that had an issue: when it booted up, there was a vertical bar on the screen, and after about ten seconds, it turned into a white screen that wasn’t full size. At the time, many forum members suggested pressing the screen. However, since I couldn’t find any screen press tools in the store, I didn’t want to rush to a repair shop right away.
I opened the back panel again and tried to figure it out myself, hoping for some new insights. The boot issue remained the same, and the screen light and the addressing board image still didn’t respond to any manual input. I unplugged the logic board and the panel one by one, but the image was still half-white. I swapped the cables, but the problem persisted. I thought maybe the cable was fine.
I tried forcing the power on with the Sharp TV and held it down while adjusting the volume. All I heard was snow noise, and the backlight looked even and consistent. Was it really a dead screen? I didn’t want to believe it. After all, this TV came from a long distance, and it was quite appealing. I decided to take a gamble and tried replacing the logic board.
