Don't give up — there's always a chance to fix it. A few days ago, I posted about a Sharp LCD-46GX50A TV that had a boot issue: the image showed vertical bars for the first couple of seconds, then turned into a white screen without filling the entire display. At the time, many forum members suggested pressing the screen. But since I couldn't find a screen press tool in the store, I didn’t rush to get one right away.
I opened the back panel again and tried to figure it out, like a doctor treating a dying horse. I checked everything again, but the boot problem remained the same. The screen light and the addressing board still didn’t respond when touched. I disconnected the logic board and the panel, and the image was half-white. Then I swapped the cable, but the result was the same — still half-white. I thought maybe the cable was okay.
I tried forcing power on with the Sharp remote and held the TV down while reducing the volume. All I heard was static noise, and the backlight was evenly lit. Was it really a faulty screen? I wasn’t ready to accept that. After all, this TV was brought back from a long way, and it looked so good. It felt like a gamble, but I decided to try replacing the logic board.
