The first batch of waste electrical and electronic products processing catalog was released yesterday

The three ministries and commissions including the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Environmental Protection jointly issued the "Disposal Catalogue of Waste Electrical and Electronic Products (First Batch)" announcement yesterday. Five kinds of products, including television sets, refrigerators, washing machines, room air conditioners, and microcomputers, were included.

In response to the question of why the first catalog was selected for five types of products: TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines, room air conditioners, and microcomputers, the person in charge said that this was mainly because these products had a large amount of social possessions and a large amount of waste; the environment was polluted. Serious, harmful to human health; high recovery costs, difficulty in handling, significant social benefits, and need for policy support.
