Memory strip SSD speed 520MB/s

Memory strip SSD speed 520MB/s Do you still remember the alternative solid-state drive "SATADIMM" that was released last year by Viking Modular Solutions, an enterprise-class storage device manufacturer, that looks like a DDR3 memory? Now, the second generation is coming.

SATADIMM is exactly a DDR3 DIMM memory module in appearance. In fact, all dimensions are completely in line with the JEDEC MO-269F standard specification (133.35×25.5×7.75 mm). Only the NAND flash memory particles and the host controller are installed on the top. There is also a SATA data interface, which is transformed into a solid state drive, capacity 25-200GB (SLC), 50-400GB (MLC/eMLC), interface SATA 3Gbps, continuous read and write speeds up to 260MB/s, random read and write speeds 30000 IOPS , Standby power consumption is only 0.9W, read and write power consumption does not exceed 2W.

Viking Modular is now ready to launch its second-generation product. The shape still maintains the appearance of DDR3 memory. However, the main controller has been upgraded to SandForce's second-generation SF-2000 (unknown model), and the data interface has been upgraded to SATA 6Gbps. Plus Other improvements provide continuous read and write performance up to 520MB/s and random performance doubles up to 60,000 IOPS.

Viking Modular believes that this peculiar product has the potential to change the design of enterprise servers and affect the entire server market, but did not disclose when the second-generation SATADIMM was released.
