I recently encountered an issue with a Skyworth 42L05HF LCD TV. The TV sometimes boots up and displays a black screen with sound, but after a while, it can work normally for a day. The power supply voltage was checked and found to be normal. The backlight drive circuit uses a separate small board that is plugged in, and the power inverter output also appears to be functioning correctly. Based on this, I suspected the problem was with the small board. After carefully inspecting the board, I started desoldering components one by one. During the process, I discovered that capacitor C4 was cracked. Replacing the 0.1µF capacitor resolved the issue, and the TV no longer experienced the same fault. Below are some of the repair photos that show the process and the damaged component.
Radiators, essential yes, but sometimes they`re pretty ugly. I can say this from personal experience, as a discoloured radiator sits in my hallway bringing down the decor. Faced with the option of replacing it at great cost, I`m now thinking a splash of paint might be the better option.
That theory is backed up by seeing this bold painted radiator transformation!
