HTC VIVE Launches "China VR Reading Platform" Based on VIVE Library Solution

HTC, a pioneer in the global smart mobile devices and virtual reality (VR) technology industry, has partnered with the China Press and Publication Research Institute and Qingdao Publishing Group to launch the "China VR Reading Platform" at the first China Press and Publication VR Application Development Forum. This platform combines cutting-edge VR hardware with a wealth of digital content, aiming to bring immersive reading experiences to schools, libraries, science museums, cultural centers, bookstores, and tourist attractions across China. By integrating high-quality copyrighted materials with advanced VR technology, it offers an innovative way for users to explore books, educational content, and entertainment. The China VR Reading Platform leverages the strengths of national-level research institutions, international VR technology leaders, and top companies in the publishing sector. It brings together press and publishing resources with tech innovation, offering diverse VR content such as education, art, and entertainment. Currently, the platform is already online with popular VR reading packs and educational courses covering science, humanities, and sports. At the heart of the platform is the Vive Library solution, which follows the "VR + Reading" concept. It simplifies the user experience by combining intuitive hardware with a vast content library. Users can purchase a complete package that includes a Vive device, a computer, and a monitor. The system also supports bulk procurement and easy setup, eliminating the hassle of assembling VR equipment. With over 80 VR applications available, the Vive Library offers a wide range of interactive experiences. Additionally, the Vive Library integrates VIVEPAPERTM, a proprietary technology that brings traditional publications like books, newspapers, and magazines into a virtual environment. Using the front-facing camera on the Vive headset, the "video-perspective AR" feature allows users to interact with physical content in a virtual space, creating a truly immersive and engaging experience. HTC Vive continues to collaborate with partners to expand the use of VR across different industries and drive innovation. On November 14th, the Vive "Mobile Future" Developer Summit (VDC2017) will take place in Beijing, where the latest developments in the Vive ecosystem and mobile VR strategies will be unveiled. This event will showcase new content and applications from various sectors, including the Vive Library. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
