Previously, as early as 2009, Symbian system still accounted for 74.7% of the annual shipments of China's mobile operating system market. With the Android system attracting Chinese enterprises to enter the smart terminal area on a large scale with open source and free of charge, it quickly grew into a dominant force in the market. . By the end of 2012, Android accounted for 86.4% of the incremental market. Among other systems, Symbian had only 2%, Apple iOS accounted for 8.6%, and domestic autonomous operating systems generally did not exceed 1%.

Today, China's self-developed mobile operating systems mainly include China Unicom's Wophone and Alibaba's Aliyun system. It is understood that when Alibaba had previously released a mobile phone equipped with its own R&D system, it had been hampered by Google and lost its opportunity to release mobile phones.

It can be seen that the development of foreign mobile phone operating systems for local companies has reached a level of serious obstacles. The main operating systems used in domestic mobile phones today are Android, and systems developed on the Android open source platform, such as MIUI.

The reason is that the lack of innovation in domestic operating systems is also a major reason why local companies are not able to establish a foothold in the market.
