TE's new ultra-compact, self-healing thermal shutdown device for lithium battery protection

In response to demand, TE Circuit Protection, a business unit of TE Connectivity Ltd., introduced the MHP-TA series ultra-compact for lithium battery protection (length: 5.8mm x width: 3.75mm x height: 1.15mm) Resettable Thermal Shutdown (TCO) devices, the MHP-TA Series are rated at 9VDC, two product types with different current carrying capacity levels, and multiple rated shutdown temperatures.

The MHP-TA Series is an extension of TE Circuit Protection's innovative Metal Hybrid PPTC (MHP) technology which uses a bimetal protector and a polymer positive temperature system in parallel connection.
