Seoul Semiconductor ("SeoulSemiconductorCo.Ltd.") has announced that its R&D team has successfully developed a super-functional technology with a single LED that can reach more than 400 lumens, far exceeding the traditional LEDs with a brightness of up to about 100 lumens. Seoul Semiconductor's ultra-high-performance LED is a new generation of lighting source, which is believed to accelerate the conversion of traditional lighting into LEDs.
Based on the improvement work of the two, this technical progress has greatly improved brightness, reduced size and cost. This single-module product delivers up to 420 lumens at 600 mA with an average brightness of 350 lumens, making it the brightest technology in the world in 8-watt traditional LEDs. In terms of volume, it is as super-slim as a single LED module emitting 100 lumens; in terms of brightness, Seoul Semiconductor's new product emits 420 lumens, which is more than four times brighter than conventional LEDs. Therefore, when customers use traditional LEDs, there are restrictions on the design due to their large size. Conversely, when using Seoul's latest high-performance modules, the creative space will be larger and the cost will be lower.
Yanghee Han, vice president of marketing for Seoul Semiconductors, said: "Customers will gradually demand brighter and smaller products, which will lead to more intense LED market competition. Seoul Semiconductor's new 420 lumens products can meet customer requirements and high expectations. At the same time, it is also possible to open up a new city that cannot be expanded due to the limitations of traditional LEDs. This is the result of Seoul Semiconductor's focus on LED business development, investment R&D and positioning as the leading position for LED manufacturers in Korea and the world."
The new products can be widely used in lighting areas where traditional LEDs cannot be achieved due to technical limitations in terms of brightness, volume and cost, such as general home lighting, car headlights, architectural lighting, work lights, street lights, flashlight lighting, camping lights and advertising. Lighting, etc.
Seoul Semiconductor is planning to launch new products in the fourth quarter of 2007
