Hall current sensor is widely used

The Hall test system consists of three parts: a magnetic core, an electronic component, and an electronic component housing. The magnetic core concentrates the current-induced magnetic field distribution and concentrates on the surface of the chip integrated with the Hall element. It is usually made of different mixing ratios of silicon steel or nickel steel alloy, and more and more Hall elements are now enlarged. The circuit is integrated into an ASIC.

The output voltage indicates the strength of the magnetic flux generated by the measured current. The circuit can not only convert the electromotive force generated by the Hall element into a signal containing the current intensity, but also has the function of automatically filtering the error signal. This function is performed according to the product calibration value. The calibration value is stored in the memory of the chip. The circuit compares the signal with the calibration value and removes the incorrect signal.

Conventional methods for testing battery currents are shunts and hall-effect technology. The principle of Hall technology is that the Hall element senses the magnetic field around the guide or wiring harness to calibrate the current intensity. Hall technology can be divided into open-loop technology and closed-loop technology.

The advantage of the closed-loop Hall current sensor is that the sensor is isolated from the system under test, it will not affect the noise of the system under test, and it will not cause energy loss in the system under test. Open-loop Hall current sensors also have this feature, and power consumption and cost are very low.

The Hall current sensor calculates the current intensity by capturing the magnetic field generated by the current. The induced voltage generated by the Hall element is proportional to the source side current. This Hall element is embedded in the ASIC. The chip is mainly used to convert the induced voltage into a signal output. Non-contact Hall devices do not affect the system under test, nor do they consume power in high-current, high-power systems.
