This ultra-high power LED claims to increase lumen density by 58% compared to its competitors.

Cree (NASDAQ: CREE) introduces the second generation of ultra-high power XLamp XHP70.2 LED, which is 9% light output (lm) and 18% light efficiency (lm/W) higher than the first generation.

In the same size, XHP70.2 is the closest competitor LED, and the lumen density can be increased by 58%. In high lumen lighting applications, smaller luminaires and better optical control can be achieved.

Ing. Flavio Sangiorgio, Director of R&D at Fael Luce, said: “We chose the Cree XHP70 LED as the ideal source for large-area lighting such as stadiums and industrial facilities. The XHP70 LED helped us develop smaller and more innovative products. LED lighting system and can provide pleasing light output and light efficiency.

The new generation of XHP70.2 LEDs provides higher light efficiency, allowing us to easily upgrade our products and continue to maintain our performance leadership without any major changes to the original design. ”

The XHP70.2 LED package size is 7.0 mm x 7.0 mm consistent with previous generations, enabling customers to easily implement immediate product upgrades based on the existing XHP70 design.

In addition to the upgrade of light output and efficacy, the XHP70.2 LED further improves optical consistency through secondary optics design, helping lighting manufacturers achieve better lighting performance.

The LM-80 data for the XHP70.2 LED is instantly available, helping to reduce the time required to pass ENERGY STAR and DLC (DesignLights Consortium) certifications.

According to Dave Emerson, senior vice president and general manager of LED Business Unit of Cree, “Under some companies, Cree continues to invest resources to improve the light output, light efficiency and reliability of ultra-high power LEDs, ensuring that customers can quickly upgrade existing designs and Develop new and more innovative products. Our XHP LEDs highlight the unique advantages of Cree's high-power LED technology, which reduces system cost and improves system performance in areas where high light output is required."

XLamp XHP70.2 LEDs use EasyWhite technology to provide better color consistency in the industry and offer high color rendering index CRI options in the color temperature range of 2700K-6500K. Sample applications are now available for XHP70.2 LEDs and can be mass-produced to standard delivery times.
